Estábamos durmiendo cuando sentimos un fuerte temblor de tierra”, explica a AFP, vestido con una túnica oscura.
Con mi mujer y mis hijos, corrimos hacia la puerta de nuestro apartamento del tercer piso. Cuando la abrimos, todo el edificio se desplomó”, dice, tras haber sido tratado en el hospital Al Rahma en la ciudad de Darkush, en la provincia de Idlib.

En estas zonas controladas por los rebeldes que luchan contra el régimen de Damasco, se han registrado al menos 380 fallecidos y más de 1.000 heridos. Mohamed Barakat, de 24 años y padre de cuatro hijos, ocupa una de las camas del hospital, con heridas en la cara y una fractura en la pierna, tras caérsele un muro encima. Este país, en guerra desde hace casi 12 años, esta dividido en zonas controladas por el gobierno y en regiones bajo control rebelde.
