Fue así como surgió la base de Navegar, el primer sencillo de su nueva producción discográfica.

Queríamos arrancar 2023 con nuevas cosas para mi público y este primer sencillo es del nuevo disco que se llama Esperanza. Es una letra dirigida a nosotras las mujeres, pero fue una casualidad que la haya compuesto, barriendo se me apareció una melodía que no era un recuerdo, sino era algo que estaba creando y con el tiempo ya le pusimos la letra.

Para mí esta canción es el recuerdo de cuando yo me fui de mi casa, cuando mis hermanas y yo nos fuimos porque en casa ya era imposible, nosotras queríamos estudiar la prepa y la universidad, pero el ambiente no era propicio para nosotras y queríamos estudiar y ese recuerdo se me quedó ahí guardado y de ahí salió la letra de la canción. ‘Vamos, vamos, ya tomaré tu mano, hay que llegar. Yo estaré contigo, ya no estarás sola nunca más’, porque yo creo que para nosotras las mujeres, una de las peores soledades que podemos vivir es la incomprensión y el desprecio a lo que nosotras pensamos, soñamos, queremos, sentimos, deseamos”, compartió Eugenia en entrevista virtual con Excélsior.

Una de las cosas que ha caracterizado a Eugenia León es su apoyo incondicional a las mujeres en diferentes sentidos y movimientos, por lo que no es de extrañar que este primer sencillo sea una muestra de esto.

Los recuerdos se vuelven presentes y es presente el tema de nosotras las mujeres, es presente el tema de las jóvenes que quieren tomar su destino en sus manos y que merecen todo el apoyo y el acompañamiento, y por eso a partir de esta canción fue que fui buscando el resto de las canciones”, dijo la cantante.

Será en mayo, y tras el lanzamiento de varios sencillos más, que Esperanza llegará a las plataformas digitales. El álbum cuenta con 11 temas de los cuales seis son inéditos y uno compuesto por Eugenia.

A lo largo de todo el disco vamos a escuchar una serie de canciones que yo llamaría luminosas, que son solidarias, son canciones que no van a tratar temas de dolor porque Pablo Milanés dijo que le dieran un mal amor y lo volvería una gran canción y tenía razón en mucho.

Pero también en este tiempo para mí, después de la pandemia, era muy importante volver a hablar de la esperanza y de cosas que nos den una sonrisa o una suavidad o una ternura, para mí era importante pasar también por ahí a nivel interpretativo”, señaló la también compositora.
