El presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador anunció que el 85 aniversario de la Expropiación Petrolera se conmemorará en el Zócalo de la Ciudad de México con una magna celebración por el rescate y fortalecimiento a Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) que impulsa el Gobierno de México.
“Se está rescatando a Pemex con los trabajadores, con los técnicos y sí amerita conmemorar el día 18 de marzo. (…) Será un acto grande, grande, están invitados todos. Tenemos que defender nuestra soberanía, defender el petróleo, defender la industria eléctrica”, subrayó.
En conferencia de prensa matutina el mandatario indicó que el festejo será amenizado por diversos artistas.
“Vamos a invitar a nuestros cantantes, los que le gustan a la gente, al pueblo. Va a ser fiesta, porque rescatamos a Pemex y la Comisión Federal de Electricidad. (…) Para nosotros sí es muy importante el 18 de marzo”, apuntó.
Recordó que la decisión del general Lázaro Cárdenas de nacionalizar la industria petrolera en 1938 marcó la historia del país.
“Si no fuese por eso, imagínense si se hubiese seguido con la misma política de privatización del petróleo, estaríamos –lo dije hace unos días– importando petróleo crudo, porque todo el periodo neoliberal fue de caída, de decrecimiento de la producción, de declinación de los campos petroleros que los agotaron e imperó en Pemex la corrupción”, refirió.
El Gobierno de la Cuarta Transformación trabaja en la recuperación del sector energético y la defensa de la soberanía, lo que al mismo tiempo permite controlar el fenómeno externo inflacionario en beneficio de la economía popular.
“Tenemos como meta que, antes de que termine el gobierno, vamos a ser autosuficientes, ya no vamos a comprar gasolina ni diésel en el extranjero, porque ya sabemos que si producimos aquí los combustibles podemos mantener precios bajos y eso ayuda a todos, al consumidor, al industrial, al comerciante, nos ayuda a todo el pueblo”, afirmó.
Señaló que la rehabilitación de las seis refinerías del país, así como la construcción de dos plantas coquizadoras en Tula, Hidalgo y en Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, son proyectos prioritarios que se realizan con presupuesto público y no representan deuda adicional.
Este año operará en su máxima capacidad la refinería Olmeca en Paraíso, Tabasco; alcanzará una producción de 340 mil barriles diarios de crudo.
